Research production in high-impact journals of contemporary neuroscience: A gender analysis

作者:

Highlights:

• Contribution of women in research production of contemporary neuroscience is examined.

• The 30 neuroscience journals with the highest impact in the Web of Science database have been analyzed.

• The pattern of research collaboration, scientific content, and the analysis of scientific impact have been studied from a gender perspective.

• In relative terms, women tend to be concentrated in the first position of the authorship by-line.

• Women occupy scarcely the last (senior) position, suggesting that age probably plays a role in gender asymmetry.
