About this organization
Organization Overview
Zhipu AI (international brand Z.ai) is an artificial intelligence company derived from the technical achievements of the Computer Science Department of Tsinghua University. Zhang Peng serves as CEO. Since its establishment in 2019, it has focused on cognitive intelligence and large-scale pre-training models. Its core vision is to "make machines think like humans." The company enjoys wide influence at home and abroad with its GLM series large models and open source ecosystem.
Creation and Development

Established in 2019, the technology comes from Tsinghua University Knowledge Engineering Laboratory (THUDM).

The early open source ChatGLM-6B / ChatGLM2 / ChatGLM3 series has become one of the most popular open source large models in China with its excellent Chinese capabilities, complete documentation and active community ecology.

Developed a 100-billion-level bilingual pre-training model GLM-130B, and built a scientific and technological intelligence platform AMiner.

As of mid-2026, the GLM flagship has been iterated to the GLM-5 series (including GLM-5, GLM-5.1, GLM-5.2, GLM-5-Turbo, etc.), forming a complete matrix:

January 8, 2026, Zhipu (stock code 02513.HK) was listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the "first large model stock in the world".

The IPO raised approximately 4.3 billion Hong Kong dollars, and the post-listing market value was approximately 57.9 billion Hong Kong dollars.
